Salon/Saloon

There is comfort in going to a salon. There is comfort for others to sit in a saloon. Two places divided by a single letter—O. At a beauty salon, one can be rejuvenated, gossip and feel like you are part of a group. Hear or relay the latest dirt.

At the saloon (older name for a bar), one can feel loosened by the alcohol, the sense of camaraderie. Same aim. Different venues. And yet, this day and age they seem more relevant. We all need an escape from our more shrunken existence. Both places provide a respite from the news, and our lives.

We can escape to a location where the atmosphere is welcoming and different. One can meet new people; reconnect with an old friend and experiment with new styles, new flavors—New, New, New.

One letter separates the experiences. Different locations, same aim. To relax, connect and restore one’s spirit.  Where is your place to revive yourself?
