Morsel Moments

Are you missing those ‘morsel moments’ like I am? A hug, a smile. A mask and social distancing preclude all these, but a phone call or facetime does not. So, take a few moments to reach out and connect with someone from the past. You will be amazed at what you can discover. I needed a shove to work on our family cookbook and got just what I needed today from my cousin. She had discovered in her mother’s old recipe box a gem---meatloaf with a special topping---CHICKEN FAT!! Who uses that? Who isn’t watching their cholesterol? The best part of the recipes; they were handwritten. A lost art form to be sure and a reminder to get a sample of all your loved ones’ handwriting. A computer printout just doesn’t make it.
